6 of the Best Wedding Caterers in Norfolk

Wedding Catering in Norfolk

I’ve been a wedding photographer in Norfolk for a good many years now and have eaten my fair share of fantastic wedding food! I often get asked to recommend wedding services and suppliers because I get to rub shoulders with some of the best in Norfolk. So here’s a short-list, the crème de la crème (food pun intended!), of the best wedding caterers in Norfolk, for your special event!

As ever, this is not an exhaustive list, it’s a selection of Norfolk wedding caterers, catering services that I have worked with, know and trust to do an incredible job for you on your wedding day (and who I know will feed me well too)! So, if you are wondering, “How do I serve food at a wedding?” or, if you’re deciding what kind of catering is right for you, then keep reading!

And just before we dive in, whoever you choose for your wedding catering, make the most of your tasting session! Apart from the fact that I got to marry my best friend and have an amazing party with all my friends and family to celebrate that fact, I got to eat some amazing food! But not only on my wedding day because, at our tasting session, I had three times as many desserts than is normally acceptable. This was on top of tasting some amazing starters and main courses. Did I take advantage? Yes, you bet I did, because when else in your life do you get to eat that much cake, in one sitting, past the age of about 8 or 9? I had to be rolled to my car afterward! So whoever you choose to do the food for your big day, try before you buy – just make sure to loosen your belt first!

1. Florentina

Kicking things off are Florentina, The Wedding Industry Awards 2019 East of England Wedding Caterer Of The Year no less! They’ve been in the catering game since 2013 and if it’s contemporary fine dining you’re looking for then Florentina is amongst the finest fine dining around!  Whether you want catering for a traditional three courses or, a ten course taster menu or, even something a little more bespoke, Florentina will, in their own words, tailor everything they do to “suit your occasion, personal tastes and desired ambience”. Combining great tastes and great customer service, they are regulars at some of Norfolk’s premier wedding venues, such as Voewood and a top choice among wedding planners. Definitely one to add to your list!

2. Back to Your Place

Back To Your Place are independent caterers based in north Norfolk and one of the caterers you should definitely shortlist for your wedding event. They’re part of the same group that owns the Pigs at Edgefield, Byfords in Holt, Ffolkes at Hillington and the Assembly House at Norwich. There’s a strong pedigree of culinary excellence in that little lot! These folk will meet your every catering need! With over ten years of wedding catering experience, Back to Your Place promise to help you make the best decisions about your food and drink, from canapés to grazing platters, a formal sit-down dinner to quirky afternoon tea.

3. Nomadi Pizza

Formerly the Proper Pizza Co. these guys do all things Pizza and then some! Wood-fired pizza makes for a fantastic alternative to a traditional sit-down wedding breakfast and they have the flexibility to be able to set up their pizza ovens at almost any event, such as at this Hautbois Hall Wedding. But it’s not just pizza – these guys have your canapés and dessert options covered as well. Regulars on the Norwich street-food scene you should definitely check them out!

4. Chihuahua’s

Fancy a food truck on your wedding day? Are you looking for outdoor wedding catering with a difference? Chihuahua’s will have your mouth watering of that there is no doubt! As the name suggests, Chihuahua’s is Mexican street-food. A perfect choice for an outdoor event or, wedding celebration, I got to work with them on this wedding at Keeper and the Dell. If you’re in the mood for Mexican flavours with a contemporary twist then these guys promise to give you eats that will have “a big old party on your tastebuds”.

5. Complete & Utter Brasted’s

Brasted’s – recently rebranded as Complete & Utter Brasted’s – are among the longest serving and best wedding and event caterers Norfolk has to offer. Yes, there’s a new look to the brand but they have always been at the top of the catering game. They have been catering for wedding and events for 30+ years and so, you can rest assured, at a Brasted’s wedding, you will eat like a King (they have, after all, catered to serving royalty, dignitaries and celebrities across East Anglia!) This evolution has them embracing the latest in dining fashions and contemporary cuisine, offering a personalised, tailor- made menu & service, using locally sourced ingredients inspired by the seasons. Their highly attentive and experienced catering team pride themselves on attending to every detail, allowing you to relax and enjoy your event. You won’t go wrong with this expert outfit!

6. Christophe’s Crepes

Christophe’s Crepes have a manifesto we can all get behind – Pancakes are for Life not just for Pancake Day! Recently winners of a Good Food Award, these guys are regulars on the wedding scene, especially when people get the evening munchies. I worked with them last at this amazing Godwick Hall wedding. Catering to both savoury and sweet teeth alike, they will amaze you with how much they can fit into their crepes, not just the  number of ingredients but the abundance of flavours. Another one worth checking out and if you can’t wait until your wedding, Chris can be found on Davey Place in the centre of Norwich!

I love weddings and I love wedding food. There is no shortage of choice in and around Norwich and Norfolk and so, I hope this little list will inspire you. If you need some more ideas for your wedding or event, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to make some more recommendations.
