Best Wedding Venues for Outdoor Weddings in Norfolk

Outdoor Weddings in Norwich & Norfolk

If you’re looking for an outdoor wedding venue in Norfolk, there are no shortage of venues. Whether you’re planning a Tipi Wedding, a Marquee Wedding or a Festival themed Wedding, Norwich and Norfolk have a fabulous array of wedding venues to choose from! Famed for it’s big skies, the beautiful Norfolk Broads and it’s sandy beaches, Norfolk has plenty to offer when it comes to finding the perfect wedding venue.

2021 Update: If you are one of the many couples forced to reconsider your wedding plans due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, you are probably wondering what to do right now. The uncertainty about when this will all end and when it will be safe to hold large indoor gatherings again is frustrating. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. In the short-medium term though, we might all need to think outside of the box, quite literally!

To help whet your appetite, if you’re planning an outdoor wedding in Norfolk, here’s 5 of the Best Outdoor Wedding Venues Norfolk has to offer!

1. The Keeper and the Dell

The Keeper and the Dell is a wonderful outdoor wedding venue, situated between Norwich and Fakenham. It has several, beautiful, outdoor spaces including the Dell, the Birch Garden and the Terrace. And if rain stops play, your service can take place in their Outdoor Ceremony Den or in a cosy little Barn. Secluded within an ancient woodland estate, it is surrounded by tall trees and meadows, providing an idyllic backdrop to your wedding celebrations. I photographed a Keeper and the Dell Wedding earlier this year and it was one of the most truly relaxed and enjoyable outdoor ceremonies I’ve had the pleasure to play a part in! For that perfect Boho Wedding experience, this is one that you should have high on your list!

2. Godwick Hall

Godwick Hall is a wedding venue set in the heart of the West Norfolk countryside between Norwich and Kings Lynn. The barn looks out across the deserted medieval village of Godwick and the ruined church tower makes for a great backdrop to your wedding photographs! As an outdoor wedding venue, it has plenty of space to entertain your guests in the grounds of the barn but if it gets too hot for them or, if the umbrellas start to come out then the it’s beautiful, 400-year-old, barn is the perfect place to host your reception! I photographed a wedding at Godwick in Summer 2018 – it was scorching but it was well worth making the effort to have it outdoors. Lucy and Simon, the bride and groom on this occasion, married under a flower arch in front of friends and family, all seated on hay bales! Relaxed drinks afterwards, garden games and a tractor trip for the happy couple, made this outdoor wedding, a day to remember!

With beautifully appointed accommodation in the Farm House and cosy luxury in the nearby Shepherd Huts – there’s plenty to love about this Norfolk Wedding Venue!

3. Hush Venues

Hush is an outdoor wedding venue on the outskirts of Norwich. They describe themselves as being “a home for your wedding […] a space for couples to be creative, connect with their loved ones and take the time to enjoy the magic of getting married.” – I love it! And they do what they say on the tin. It’s hidden away, a little like The Keeper and the Dell (above) but it’s not hard to find since it is but a short journey from Norwich itself.  Much like the Keeper and the Dell it is surrounded by woodland but it’s meadowland is a sight to behold. In the height of Summer it is absolutely bursting with colour and makes for great wedding photos! It also overlooks the beautiful Yare Valley and you and your guests can camp out surrounded by all this natural beauty! It has various little spaces for you to explore and is a fully-licensed outdoor wedding venue. You can see some more from a Tipi wedding at Hush in Norfolk over on my wedding photography blog!

4. Hautbois Hall

Hautbois Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues in Norfolk. Under the expert hand of Cheryl, the resident wedding coordinator, this is a venue that you should certainly add to your venue shortlist! It is surrounded by absolutely gorgeous countryside but the Hall itself, as a backdrop to your wedding ceremony and your celebrations is truly beautiful. It has the advantage of a Barn for your wedding reception, if you choose to but if the weather is fine, then the venue has more than enough space to entertain al fresco! I have photographed weddings at Hautbois Hall on numerous occasions and it never fails to deliver!

5. Getting Married in your Garden
