Old Marylebone Town Hall and Skylon Wedding Photography

A London Wedding at Old Marlyebone Town Hall and Skylon, Southbank

A lovely trip down to London, last Summer, for Silvia and Stuart's wedding at not one but three different London wedding venues. The wedding ceremony took place at Old Marylebone Town Hall, the wedding breakfast at Barrafina, Coal Drops Yard and finally, the main wedding reception at the iconic Skylon Restaurant, the Royal Festival Hall, on London’s Southbank.

I was really excited for their wedding day after Silvia first got in touch, describing how they would be focusing on good times, good food and good music! Tick, tick and tick - I wanted in!

Silvia is Spanish and had family visiting from Spain. Even though my grasp of Spanish only extends to, "good morning", "good night" and "2 beers, please", I didn't need to speak the language to see how much love and pride her family have for her. Siliva and her mum travelled, to Old Marylebone Town Hall, in a 1959 Pink Cadillac and held hands the whole way - her mum was beaming!

At the Old Marylebone Town Hall, Silvia and Staurt's close family joined them for a small and intimate wedding ceremony. One of my favourite moments of the day was the bride and groom's first-look, Silvia could barely conceal her excitement, upon seeing Stuart, as she came around the door in to the ceremony room.

After Silvia and Stuart became newly-weds, they were covered in confetti as they descended the steps of the Marylebone Town Hall. Leaving Marylebone, they alighted a classic Routemaster, double decker, bus and travelled through the City to Barrafina, Coal Drops Yard. At Barrafina we were treated to some fabulous, authentic, Spanish tapas and it was soooo good, I will be going back there!  After the meal and some speeches, it was back on the bus to the Royal Festival Hall. Stuart is a composer and so the Royal Festival Hall is kind of a home from home for him. If you haven't been to the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank, please go, even if it's just to use the lift! I won't spoil the surprise but using the lift put a massive smile on my face!

At the Royal Festival Hall, Stuart, Silvia and their family joined their assembled guests at Skylon for an entirely made-up but incredibly heartfelt and very funny, hand-fasting ceremony! After some more speeches, it was time for the party to get started and it really did, with the help of the amazing talent in the Gareth Lockrane Big Band (rumour has it, the drummer that evening, has played session for Led Zeppelin - I don't get that at every wedding!) Good friends of Stuart, he was hardly off the dance-floor!

An incredible day, I had so much fun, it flew by! A huge thanks to Silvia and Stuart for choosing me and to my friend Charlotte Knee (an amazing photographer!) for recommending me to the happy couple. And props to my second-shooter, Craig Macaulay, who was visiting old London town and popped along to Skylon to get some extra angles on the day - always a pleasure! Here's just a small selection from this fabulous London wedding - enjoy!
