Wedding Photography | Washingborough Hall

Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer

Washingborough Hall in Lincolnshire played host to Kathryn & Jim’s recent Summer wedding.  An intimate yet grand wedding venue it was a wonderful place for wedding photography of a couple who were clearly very much in love - smiling and laughing the whole day through.  It was a great honour to be asked to tell the story of their day.  Despite a wet start early on, the skies cleared away to reveal glorious sunshine and to treat us to some  spectacular evening light.  Here's a just a few favourites images from their special day.

Suffolk Wedding Photographer | Caroline & Anthony

Suffolk Wedding Photography

This Suffolk wedding took place in the picturesque village of Bungay last Easter Sunday.  The bride and groom were married at Holy Trinity Church in Bungay and treated their guests to a fantastic wedding breakfast and party.   Driving from Norwich, I passed through hale and snow to get to this wedding but although the weather was cold, the event itself was on fire.  There was a surprise cabaret, organised by the Brides brother and sister, a live dance band and yet another surprise performance, courtesy of the Groom's nephews, of the ubiquitous "Gangnam Style".  Caroline, a professional musician, couldn't resist and accompanied the band on her violin.  A wedding awash with fun and colour, it was a joy to be a part of their celebrations.

Oxfordshire Wedding Photography - Bay Tree Hotel | Jo & Rob

UK Wedding Photographer

On a blustery, cold day (of which, admittedly, there has been no shortage just recently!), Rob & Jo braved the winds to marry at the Bay Tree Hotel in Burford.  A lovely little hotel in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, full of rustic charm and inglenook fireplaces, made this wedding a lovely little retreat from the weather.  Another wonderful couple, clearly made for one another - many congratulations to you both!

A fantastic crowd to match the glorious weather at this wedding.  Stephanie & David married in their family church and followed this up with a reception held at Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire.  Bunting, flowers and candied treats galore, a fabulous venue and a great couple made this yet another cracking wedding day - enjoy!

UK Wedding Photographer - Great Fosters | Christi & Ian

Great Fosters Wedding

A little bit of sunshine for you this cold December day.

Congratulations to Christi & Ian who were married in a beautiful church in the Surrey countryside last Spring and followed this up with an amazing reception at Great Fosters near Egham.  The sun shone brightly for the entire day and the proceedings ran like clockwork.

A couple clearly very much in love and as these images show, incredibly relaxed and happy together, made their wedding day an absolute joy to shoot.

Norfolk & UK Wedding Photographer - Wethele Manor | Elizabeth & Andrew

August was also the month of Elizabeth and Andrew’s wedding.  The couple wed at the chapel where Elizabeth used to attend college, an absolutely beautiful venue to shoot in and some cracking places to get unusual angles on the procession (check out the bride leaving the chapel).

The happy couple went on to celebrate their union down the road at Wethele Manor in Warwickshire and while it threatened to rain, we escaped the downpour during the ceremony, leaving behind a gloriously sunny day.  There was dancing, magic, music, a kick-about and plenty of fun and laughter!

A brilliant couple, fabulous guests and a wonderful vibe to the whole day made this one a pleasure to shoot!

Brocket Hall Wedding Photography

A quite beautiful wedding reception, at the simply stunning Brocket Hall, last December, saw a fun filled Winter’s afternoon which made for some beautiful wedding photography.  Great speeches during the wedding breakfast, then dancing and fireworks late into the evening made for a classic winter wedding!

Norfolk Wedding Photographer - Summer Wedding at Coworth Park

Coworth Park Wedding photography

Although local to Norwich and based in the beautiful county of Norfolk, I undertake Wedding Photography across the UK, such as this very stylish Coworth Park wedding in Ascot last Summer.  Not far from London and described as the ultimate luxury wedding venue, Coworth Park Hotel really does have it all.  A popular celebrity destination, Paloma Faith and Cheryl Cole have both stayed here.  And Prince Harry has been known to pay more than the one visit, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge , Kate and Wills, who were spotted strolling hand in hand through the estate during their courtship and have been back more than once for the Polo!  Set in 245 acres of grounds, this wedding venue provided no shortage of places to take the bride and groom for some creative wedding photography. And as you'd expect from the Sultan of Brunei (or perhaps the people working for him!), the interior of this grand hotel is just as amazing.  And while I lost the nerve to see for myself, I understand that the decor in the ladies bathroom was also rather fabulous!  Despite it's grandeur, Coworth Park proved to be the perfect backdrop to what was a relaxed and intimate wedding.  Clear blue skies on an absolutely blazing hot day saw sunshine and laughter galore!

Go on and take a peek!

Norfolk | Suffolk | Cambridgeshire | UK - Wedding & Lifestyle Photography

Welcome to the first post on my new blog, a new home for my Wedding and Lifestyle Photography.  I am a Norfolk Wedding Photographer and Lifestyle Photographer but I work right across the UK.

I have been posting my photography in various different ways over the past few years but with the launch of my new website, I can finally host a blog of my own! To kick things off, I thought I’d share photography from my personal archive, taken in Cambridgeshire just a few weeks ago.  These are photographs of my own family, 3 generations thereof, having recently become a dad.

My beautiful baby girl is just over a year old now but in that short time, as good as my memory is, if it wasn’t for the photographs to look back on, I’m not sure I would be able to recall all those ever so precious memories. While I have always been passionate about the power of photography to freeze a moment in time, having a family of my own and so many memories to capture has really brought this home to me. I’m passionate about my photography because I get a real buzz capturing special moments like these.

Your family will experience many happy milestones together but these special times often go undocumented.  One thing I have learnt about having children is that time passes, at least, twice as fast (& you get five times as little sleep!). While you can't stop the clock, or, turn back time, hiring a professional photographer to undertake a family lifestyle shoot, can help you capture these memories so you can enjoy looking back on them for years to come.

You might have thought the only way to have a professional portrait taken is to stand in front of a big set of lights in a studio. Trust me, it isn't & as much as I love looking back on photographs of myself as a child, that cheesy studio backdrop always makes me cringe! Who wants to sit in a studio, when you can go to the beach, hang out at the park, or, go for a walk in the woods, kicking leaves & splashing about in puddles? Hey, the kids might even enjoy it too!

A lifestyle shoot gives you a great deal of choice over where your photographer takes your family's photographs. It allows so many more creative opportunities to shoot your story, your style. Creative studio work can be cool but for me, at least, it can't match having fun outdoors!

If you're worried about what to wear on an outdoor shoot there's no need to be. While camouflage gear is not advisable, so long as you wear something that you feel comfortable in and try to avoid anything with large logos, or, motifs, you'll be okay. Small detailed prints are fine and bold, bright colours work well. Some stripes can work but be careful when choosing them.

Family lifestyle photography is all about you and your family, your life and style. It's about having fun and getting some great images, capturing memories that you will always treasure - enjoy!
